TikTok picks up over one billion downloads from Google Play

TikTok is without a doubt the most popular entertainment app. This time the work of Chinese ByteDance has crossed another important milestone.

Previously, TikTok overtook Facebook to become the second most downloadable app (the first is WhatsApp), but now it has managed to collect over a billion downloads in the Google Play store.

TikTok itself (because it's Chinese) has faced the same panic reactions among American politicians as Huawei. Senators even went so far as to suggest that TikTok could use foreign governments to influence Americans. The U.S. army banned soldiers from using the application, although it had previously tried to recruit soldiers through it. Users, however, do not pay attention to the concerns of American congressmen, and TikTok is getting new users around the world, with special growth recently in Europe.
