The PC sales market declined significantly despite increased demand

PC manufacturers are not doing well

Canalys analysts assessed the PC market according to the results of the first quarter of this year. It was found out that computer supplies decreased by 8%, to 53.68 million. The main reason is coronavirus.

Among five leaders only one company Dell could increase deliveries - by 1%, up to 10.5 million devices. At Lenovo, supplies fell by 4.4%, at HP - by 13.8%, at Apple - by 21%, and at Acer - by 12.6%.

Analysts note that in the first quarter of the PC market there was a curious situation. On the one hand, manufacturers have limited production due to the pandemic. Also, the situation was aggravated by the closure of many factories. On the other hand, the demand for PCs, and especially notebooks, began to grow due to the mass transfer of people around the world to remote operation. As a result, manufacturers are now unable to cope with the demand.
