The Nobel Laureate stated that the coronavirus was artificially created in a laboratory

The new coronavirus has no natural origin and was developed in the laboratory. This was stated by French virologist Luc Montagne, who won the Nobel Prize for the discovery of HIV in 2008.

"The virus is not of natural origin, it is the work of molecular biologists," Montagne said in an interview with CNEws. At the same time, he noted that there was some manipulation with the virus - according to the Nobel laureate, HIV particles were added to COVID-19. As Montaigne suggested, perhaps, biologists initially tried to produce an AIDS vaccine.

Earlier, Fox News reported with reference to sources that the first patient, who fell ill with COVID-19 in Wuhan, worked in the laboratory of the Institute of Virology. Montagne shares the same position. However, as stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhao Lijiang, there is no evidence that the new type of coronavirus was created artificially. At the same time, he recalled: doctors believe that the version about the virus leaking from the laboratory is not scientifically grounded.
