Samsung launches Galaxy S20 buy-back program

Samsung has launched an unusual program that will allow owners of the flagship Galaxy S20 to return it within two years from the date of purchase for 50% of the original price. The main condition of the return - the good condition of the smartphone.

If this condition is fulfilled, Galaxy S20 5G 128 GB users will receive 500 GB, and for the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G 512 GB - 800 dollars (their retail price is 1000 and 1500 dollars respectively).

According to experts, two circumstances forced Samsung management to take this step - the fall in demand due to the coronavirus pandemic and too high price of Samsung Galaxy S20. Taken together, these factors led to the fact that demand for the flagship model fell by half compared to the previous year - and this despite the advanced characteristics of the camera and a number of other notable innovations.

However, there is one point in the program that is not quite clear, which was pointed out by the experts - the lack of "good condition" criteria. Apparently, 50% is the maximum that applicants for a refund can count on. It is possible that the actual requirements for a refund will be quite high, and the promised amount will be much lower.
