GoPro is firing its employees

A renowned company that produces high-quality cameras said it had to fire about 20 percent of its staff because of the coronavirus pandemic.

GoPro recently boasted great revenue growth due to the launch of its successful Hero 8 Black in the last quarter of 2019.

Unfortunately, the arrival of the Coronavirus epidemic, and with it the economic problems of many companies, led to a turnover decrease of more than half compared to last year. For this reason, the company decided to introduce decisive measures in the form of employment restrictions. The dismissals will affect almost 200 people.

Nicholas Woodman, CEO of GoPro, said in his statement that he feels personally affected by the tragedy involving many talented team members. He himself said that he would not receive his salary until the end of the year.

GoPro also plans to change the distribution model to direct distribution, with restrictions on the form of retail trade.
