Valkyrie will be the largest megayacht in the world

Designer Chalhun Park conceived the design of an unusual yacht, while still a student. Many years later, he made a career in the shipbuilding industry and now his Valkyrie project has received a green light. The concept has been fully developed - it remains to find someone who dares to finance this idea.

If the Valkyrie is built, it will be the largest superyacht in the world, easily surpassing the current record holder - the Azzam vessel. The yacht belonging to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is 180 m long, and the conceptual monster of the Park is 50 m longer. Everything above the waterline was designed by the designer, the underwater part and mechanisms were designed by engineer Palmer Johnson.

Structurally, the Valkyrie is a trimaran with steel and aluminum gondolas on which a carbon fiber superstructure is mounted. It is 50% more energy efficient than vessels of the same dimensions, but despite its “predatory” appearance it is not at all suitable for racing. Moreover, this is not a cruise ship - rather, a floating exhibition complex for cultural events. The dimensions of the yacht are enough to accommodate the theater, shops, salons, restaurants and themed venues.

According to the idea of the Park, the Valkyrie itself is a work of art, a living bearer of the idea of deconstructivism, when there are no clear, symmetrical, repeating elements in the architecture and interior. The idea of contrasting with other superyachts, with their laconic closed silhouettes and contours of the hulls, there are many open areas, broken lines, various nooks and unusual rooms. The crew of the yacht will be 92 people, she will be able to receive 52 guests in 26 cabins.
