The first unmanned helicopter designed to fight forest fires

One of the indisputable advantages of drones is the ability to fly and work in areas of high risk, thereby saving people from unnecessary risk. This is the mission of the JC260 drone drone, which is designed to extinguish forest fires.

Designer of the fire drone is Chinese company QilingUAV. JC260 is equipped with two special bombs filled with special liquid. They can be dropped one at a time or together. Each of the bombs, when detonated, covers a flame-loaded area of up to 50 cubic meters.

The drone flight is provided by two 3.6-meter diameter propellers powered by two 34-hp water-cooled petrol engines. The drone has a speed of up to 100 km/h. One tank of gasoline is enough for 3-4 hours of flight. JC260 is 2.8 m long and weighs 260 kg, including bombs.

The drone is equipped with onboard video cameras and is controlled by a ground operator in real time. In order to drop bombs it is enough to press a button on the remote control.
