IDC analysts summed up the fourth quarter of 2019 in the server market. Their calculations show that in annual terms the specified market grew by 7.5%. In monetary terms, it reached $ 25.4 billion. It is noteworthy that the supply in quantitative terms over the year increased by 14.0%, slightly exceeding 3.4 million units.
Analysts note that in the mass segment, which accounted for $ 19.7 billion in sales, the growth was 12.1%, while sales in the middle segment fell by 14.1% to $ 3.3 billion, while in the upper segment they grew by 8.9%, up to $ 2.4 billion.
The market leader is HPE (including the New H3C Group), but over the year its share decreased from 18.2% to 16.3%. In second place is Dell, whose share in the year decreased from 18.8% to 15.7%. The third place is taken by IBM, which was able to increase its stake from 8.3% to 9.1%. The top five also include Inspur / Inspur Power System and Lenovo with shares of 6.8% and 5.6%, respectively.
