Messages go missing from Android smartphones

Users have been complaining about the Google Messages app for over a year.

Users of Google Messages, the official Google messaging application for Android smartphones, complain about unpleasant problems, including remote messages.

Interestingly, the complaints started back in January 2019, when the branch with the discussion in the official support forum was opened.  However, the branch with complaints attracted wide public attention only now, when it was noticed by the Android Authority thematic resource.

Users complain about distorted text, incorrectly marked SMS from some contacts, the usual "departures" of the application, which sometimes leads to more significant consequences, including removal and loss of all messages.

A complete solution to the problems has not yet been found. Even a factory reset does not fully help. The most effective thing for now is to switch to another application as the main one. The problem is not limited to Google smartphones, it is also observed in Motorola, Huawei, HTC, LG and Samsung devices.
