Jesko Absolut will forever remain the fastest Koenigsegg

The Swedes introduced a new version of the Koenigsegg Jesko hypercar - Absolut. If the original version was aimed at those who often test the ability of the machine on the ring track, then Jesko Absolut is “imprisoned” for the main line and must demonstrate an unprecedented maximum speed. “This is the fastest Koenigsegg ever built, and the company will never strive to create a faster production car,” the developers said.

The project originally appeared in the plans of the company under the symbol Jesko 300, and the number indicated miles per hour.

What kind of maximum speed is given by Jesko Absolut, the company has not yet said. Holds a theatrical pause. A year ago, boss Christian von Koenigsegg assured that this coupe should at least exceed the bar in round 300 mph (483 km / h). Now the benchmark has clearly changed: the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ hypercar, the pre-production prototype of which with the disabled limiter pulled off last fall to 490.484 km / h. The brand itself in the record holders previously walked the Agera RS coupe in a modification of 1360 hp. and 1371 N • m (457 km / h). The Swedes want to exceed 500 km / h and calm down on this?


Talking about the usual Jesko, the company focuses on high downforce, which reaches one ton already at a speed of 275 km / h, and at a maximum it grows to 1.4 tons. km / h, but there are doubts). But when describing the Absolute, the coefficient of air resistance is highlighted - only 0.278, which is unusually small for a mid-engined hypercar. In combination with a very moderate frontal projection area (1.88 m²), low energy costs for driving at high speeds are obtained.

Here the difference between the original Jesko (right) and the Absolute is clearly visible. Interestingly, the wingless hypercar doesn’t remain without downforce: 150 kg are promised to it at maximum speed.

Of course, without a powerful V8 5.0 biturbomotor, this could not have done. When operating on an E85 alcohol mixture, the unit produces 1622 hp. and 1500 N • m at 5100 rpm (1000 N • m are available from 2700 to 6170 rpm). It is complemented by a nine-speed "Light Speed ​​Transmission (LST)" robot "about seven clutches (rear-wheel drive, with an electronically controlled differential). Actually, the passport data of the internal combustion engine are the same for Jesko and Jesko Absolut. But Absolut weighs less than 30 kg. Its dry weight is 1290 kg versus 1320 for Jesko, and the curb weight is 1390 versus 1420. These differences are flavored with stabilizers at the stern, inspired by the F-15 fighter, and front aerodynamic “flaps” under the bottom, helping to reduce drag and control clearance at high speed. The result will be something interesting when Jesko Absolut will spin its motor to the red zone of 8500 rpm.
