American blogger has developed a flying vacuum cleaner

American engineer and youtuber Peter Sripol published a video of creating and testing what could usher in a new branch of development of household robots. He thought about solving one of the key problems of all wheeled vehicles - climbing steep obstacles like stairs. From the point of view of the author, the most optimal solution was flight.

To implement his idea, he took a standard Roomba vacuum cleaner, on which he fixed several propellers from a multicopter. Connected them to the energy system of the robot, added a remote control. There is no way without it - initially the robot was not intended for flight, its algorithms are not able to recognize such a state and navigate in three planes.

The result was as impressive as the stupid one. The vacuum cleaner easily flies over obstacles, but the wind it lifts at the same time only scatters garbage even more. The accuracy of the movement depends entirely on the operator, and the battery charge is consumed very quickly. Finally, the modernization of the factory vacuum cleaner cost $ 200, which is three times its price. But that's the concept, just to show the possibilities and set the direction for development.
